Despite trailing at the half by 14 points, the Boston Celtics rallied and took care of the ball as they rolled on through the Bucks for a 111 to 98 win Saturday night. Delonte West saw 26 minutes of action in the game, shooting two for seven from the floor and finishing with four points, two rebounds and three assists. Paul Pierce turned up his game after committing four turnovers in the first half of play as he finished the night with seven rebounds, seven assists, two steals and thirty six points.
Clearly, the Celtics came out with a more powerful approach in the second half. They managed to shoot 58% from the field when the game ended — a marked improvement over their first half efforts that were well below 50%. The win comes as a bit of a surprise too coming on the back end of back to back games with tonight’s being a road game. Still the C’s showed second half strength, came out, took care of the ball and executed on both ends of the court. A win is a win, and that’s exactly what everyone around the Celtics organization needed after last night’s contest against the Knicks.
With the win the Celtics improve to 5 and 8 on the season putting them just one half game behind the Nets (not playing tonight) for the Atlantic Division lead.
