Delonte Plays 23 Min. in Celtics Big Win

Delonte West played 23 minutes off the bench tonight for the Celtics in their 113-89 victory at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville CT. Delonte showed Celtics fans everywhere not only that he was back — but he was ready to build off last year’s success. West scored 9 points, dished out 6 assists, pulled down 3 rebounds and blocked a shot in tonight’s game. A video clip of Delonte’s performance from FSN New England is available to the right.

The Celtics had six players in double digits with Paul Pierce leading the scoring efforts with 18 points. Leon Powe continued to impress tonight with 16 points, 3 blocks, 3 steals and 9 rebounds.

After the first quarter, the game wasn’t much of a game at all — and the Celtics continued to walk away from the Knicks by outscoring them in the first three quarters of play. Theo Ratliff and Michael Olowokandi did not see action tonight, and according to FSN New England, Brian Scalabrine is done for the preseason with a partially separated shoulder.
