West satisfied with role…

Forum Moderator FLCeltsFan came across an article from Bill Doyle in today’s Worcester Telegram & Gazette covering Delonte’s new role as backup shooting guard on the Celtics team. The article features a number of comments and statistics on Delonte’s excellent season last year – and his transition back to SG with the team’s addition of Sebastian Telfair.

Some of the most notable quotes include…

1.) When asked about the situation of being moved to the second unit… “It’s not about fair,” West said. “It’s about winning games. There’s no hard feelings. We’re trying to win basketball games.”

2.) On the management and coaching decision to have Delonte change from the point to the two-guard… “I’m a trooper in the army, man,” West said. “I do what the captain tells me to do.”

3.) On last night’s highlight defensive play (blocking Curry) and lead pass assist to Szczerbiak for a three point play… “The guy on the weak side is supposed to rotate over,” West said. “Actually, I was a little late, but I recovered and made the defensive play.”

I really have to agree with what FLCeltsFan stated on the discussion board… I just love this kid’s attitude.
