Pierce, Szczerbiak and West are Safe in Green
Chris Sheridan of ESPN says that Celtics’ General Manager Danny Ainge is willing to trade every member of the Celtics except for Pierce, Szczerbiak and Delonte West. In his training camp article published yesterday on ESPN.com, Sheridan quotes Ainge as having said “We have three proven quality NBA players in Paul Pierce, Wally and Delonte West.”
The article continues on to discuss Ainge’s likelihood to make deals and roster moves as a way to improve the team moving forward…
“When I feel like our roster is set and we’re ready to win an NBA championship, where we have stabilized pieces for three or four years to come, we won’t make trades,” Ainge said. “But until then we’re going to continue to tweak our roster until we feel we’re at that stage, and we’re not there yet.”
