Delonte Returns as Celtics Lose to Knicks 101-77

Delonte West battled his way back onto the court tonight from a sprained left toe — but the Boston Celtics failed to beat the Knicks for the second time in less than a week. The Knicks outplayed and out coached the Celtics on their way to a 101-77 road win. Delonte West played 19 minutes for the Celtics but struggled to find his shot, as he finished with 9 points having made 4 of his 13 shot attempts.

Despite opening up an 8 point lead early, the Celtics had no answer for Eddy Curry and the Knicks low post offense. In the third quarter, Isiah Thomas exploited that weakness time and time again as the Knicks outscored the Celtics 29-14. After that horrific third quarter or play the Knicks never looked back from their enormous lead, and the game was quickly in the books.

Wally Szczerbiak led the Celtics scoring efforts with his 16 point night.
