Delonte West Inactive Vs. Pacers, May End Season
Delonte West stayed in Boston while the rest of the team traveled to Indiana to play the Pacers. While the Celtics lost the game 117 to 112, it could be Delonte who will be lost for the rest of the season. West suffered a strained calf muscle in Sunday’s loss to the New York Knicks. While he’s been on ice and rest since the incident, there’s still a strong chance that West may miss the final 4 games of the season.
In an article in the Globe with Shira Springer, Delonte says that he expects to be back in uniform Friday for a match up with Jason Kidd and the Nets. This late in the season, with nothing at stake, he will not push his body and risk further injury. Like Wally Szczerbiak (left knee surgery) and Al Jefferson (sprained right ankle), West may shut it down.
Stay tuned to Delonte.com for the latest updates on Delonte’s status for the rest of the season.
